The Ellis Barn located in Springfield Oaks
County Park, Davisburg (Oakland County)
Constructed circa 1884, this barn has an
unique structure sometimes called a Madaswaska Twin or “double Dutch” design and
is the only Michigan barn featured in Randy Leffingwell’s book The American
Barn. The Ellis barn is said to be one of Michigan’s largest. This barn has been
successfully moved to the Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg.
