barn
Not only was this barn selected as one of the 2006 Barn of the Year awards, but was also selected as a 2004 BARN AGAIN! Farm Heritage Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Successful Farming magazine. The barn is a 40’ by 60’ balloon-frame built in 1914 by Leo Fitzpatrick’s grandfather, and was restored by Leo in the 1970’s. The barn was used as a stable and stored hay and grain. Today the barn houses tools, equipment, and straw and stands like a beacon at the center of an operation producing wheat, oats, corn, and beans.
