Ludington. Cherry Hill Barn, 3529 W. Conrad Rd., owned by Marcia and Roger Hansen.

This barn earned a "Continued Family/Private Agricultural Use Award." It has been in the same family for five generations, beginning in 1883 with Carl and Marie Hansen. It was part of a fruit and dairy farm operation and today houses hay and shorthorn beef cattle. The original shake roof has twice been shingled and windows have been replaced. Accepting their award, Marcia Hansen stated, "We now know what it feels like to win an Academy Award - the Academy Award of barn preservation!" Contact the Hansens at 231-843-2280.
